A new day in the onward challenge of life in a sort of post lock-down. For me things have not changes much at all since the first day of staying at home. Most of lock-down was fairly effective but it quickly slackened off as younger people realised, they were not at so great a risk but it seemed perfectly happy to risk carrying it home to their elderly families.
That was a bad moment in my opinion, because a mass of
people started to take no notice what so ever, as if the Covid 19 were just
another bout of flu. We all made adjustments to suit ourselves, we did too to
be perfectly honest. With the original allowance of one hour a day to exercise
in outside we took two hours every other day to do our run training at 5 am in
the woods a couple of miles away from home. Then did the rest of our workouts
at home.
We stuck to that plan fervently and in fact we still
did that until the last couple of weeks when we have driven further to attend
to what little work has cropped up. Our business has been irrevocably damaged
by the pandemic and we are planning to close our warehouse down in the next few
months. We have had to pay the rent over the last five months when there has
been no income. We have had a little work that has cropped up the last couple
of weeks but nothing lasting. The horizon is just a dark cloud with no light at
the end.
What we have managed to do is stay very fit and
healthy with our hugely increased and improved run training out in the fresh
country air and a mass of madly different workouts indoors. The two absolute
saviours, that have improved our core strength and flexibility are the workouts
on You Tube. Lots of Qigong, that includes some anti-stress and purging routines,
as well as bringing inner peace and calm, whilst keeping our body’s loose and
aligned. Then with the New York City Ballet Workout there are a lot of floor
exercises for the core, abdominals and all the muscles in the body with a tiny
bit of ballet grace and poise.
This morning I advanced to the second hour long ballet workout. Steve thought it a great idea for me to try that but did not think he was ready for it y, so that is how come I have photos today. Steve sat and watched and at the end was quite sure he was not ready for stage two of the ballet class.
